CHIEFTAIN; the leader
CHIEFTAIN® was founded in 2018 in San Francisco by a Nigerian immigrant Uche Iheuwa, shortly after moving over to the United States. Uche studied industrial design at the Academy of Arts University (AAU) in San Francisco. After graduating in 2020, CHIEFTAIN was officially established as a company during the Covid-19 pandemic. The brand was created to be a destination for men, women, and children with love for elements of African/Black aesthetics, arts, symbols & patterns giving them a distinctive appearance. Two (2) years after on April 15th, 2022, the first collection of silk scarves introducing a unique print "T-mono pattern" and a unisex collection of sunglasses "Dreamer" was launched.
FLAG / COLOR PALETTE
Our brand’s flag is made up rich and earthy colors (black,beige,burgundy,brown) that resonates with every human irrespective of their background and skin color. We plan to expand our products line ranging from handbags, ready to wear, jewelry, footwear accessories and leather-goods.
MEET THE FOUNDER
Uche Iheuwa is a Nigerian-born fashion/industrial designer and founder of CHIEFTAIN. He is based out of San Francisco, California. Uche has a design background in industrial design, a master’s degree in art from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco.
